Application Process - Bachelor of Chiropractic Science,

Applications for the Bachelor of Chiropractic Science are made through the Universities Admission Centre (UAC) at www.uac.edu.au in September, for commencement in February/March of the following year. Selection is based on meeting the required entrance score, based on your HSC results. The 2011 ATAR (Australian Tertiary Admission Rank) was 80.55. The intake is approximately 150 students per year, though this may vary from year to year. There is only one intake annually.

International students should lodge an application with the Macquarie University International Office at www.international.mq.edu.au

There are a range of alternative pathways for mature age students, students with previous tertiary studies in health sciences and those with no formal qualifications.


 

Submitting an Application into the Graduate Diploma in Chiropractic Science, UAC Code 862813

The following steps are provided for new students who already have a graduate level science based degree with studies in anatomy and physiology who wish to apply to the Graduate Diploma in Chiropractic Sciene.  More information about this program is available here: Graduate Diploma in Chiropractic Science

Applicants can send in their application to the Department from March each year till December. It takes several weeks for applications to be processed. The department recommends applicants apply early to increase their chance of obtaining a place in the program. Applications officially close January each year. Offers made to students are based upon previous academic performance. This program has only a small intake each year.

Step 1: You need to mail us the following items:

  • A copy of your academic transcript
  • Unit outlines for all units that cover: Anatomy, Physiology, and Pathology.
  • Unit outlines need to contain - week by week lecture topics, lab hours, assessment methods.

Step 2: May be completed at the same time as Step 1

  • If you are an Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident of Australia submit an application with Universiies Admissions Centre (http://www.uac.edu.au/) - Postgraduate for the Graduate Diploma. This may be completed on-line.
  • If you are an International Student, apply through the Macquarie University International Office.

Step 3:

  • A letter will be sent to you from the Department of Chiropractic detailing the most appropriate program you should complete if you are made an offer to the Graduate Diploma in December.
  • Offers made to students are based upon previous academic performance.
  • Please note that your program will be based on the level of detail you provide from Step 1, if you are made an offer and you feel you have covered the material, you may seek to have your program reassessed. You must contact the Department of Chiropractic to do this.

Submitting an application into the Master of Chiropractic,

UAC Code 865810

(by current 3rd yr undergraduate & MQUAL students)

Current Local and International 3rd Year Chiropractic Macquarie Students can apply into the Master of Chiropractic. An offer is subject to the successful completion of their degree.

Please follow the steps in this letter depending on your status:

  • If you are a local 3rd year Bachelor of Chiropractic student, or
  • If you are a local Postgraduate Qualifying (MQUAL) student, or
  • If you are an International student (B Chiro or MQUAL).

It is your responsibility to ensure that you meet the deadlines, apply on time and fill out the appropriate forms. Please do not make the mistake of assuming that you will automatically be enrolled into the Master of Chiropractic or that any of your Fee-Help will be carried over.
